2019 Subaru Crosstrek, Forester: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 10,400 model-year 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and Forester SUVs

The Problem: A connector inside the electronic power steering unit may short-circuit, resulting in a loss of electric power steering assistance and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the steering gearbox and replace it, as necessary, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Subaru began recalling vehicles Feb. 7, though it noted that none of the affected vehicles have been sold yet.
