2020 Chevrolet Silverado HDs, GMC Sierra HDs: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,900 model-year 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickup trucks and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD pickups

The Problem: The hood-latch striker wires may not have been heat-treated properly, possibly causing them to fracture and the hood to unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the hood assembly for free.

What Owners Should Do: Chevrolet and GMC manufacturer GM will begin notifying owners April 26. Owners can call Chevrolet at 800-630-2438, GMC at 800-462-8782, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
