6th Annual Jalopy Jam Up in Rockton, Ontario, Canada

There’s nothing better than climbing into an old truck to start your day, regardless of what your destination might be. No matter if you’re heading to the hardware store to pick up stock, cruising to a diner to get a bite, or simply just burning fuel on the road to nowhere, one thing for sure is that a classic truck makes everything better. Sharing your experiences with other truck and car owners is one of the most enjoyable facets of heading off to a show or a cruise night. We’re here to let you know that there’s a neat event that brings together some of the coolest classic trucks, hot rods, and customs by creating a perfect vibe for a truly nostalgic weekend.

Now in its sixth year, the Jalopy Jam Up, held in Rockton, Ontario, Canada, has continued to grow with every passing year, settling into its home at the Rockton Fairgrounds. At well-over 150 years old, the fairgrounds radiate an old-school charm with its vintage buildings, grandstand, open-air pavilion, and manicured acreage, complemented by plenty of nice roads to cruise on. This is a specific type of event that focuses on pre-1964 traditional hot rods and customs built to reflect the ’40s-’60s styles. With all types of vehicles welcomed it was a perfect platform for some of the area’s coolest traditionally styled vintage haulers to stop in and check out the scene. This year, well over 500 of the most bitchin rides from Canada and the U.S. stopped in.

It’s a well-balanced, two-day event that offers a full schedule of fun from start to finish, where you can enjoy walking through a classic swap meet and visiting with vendors while also watching local pinstripers and tattoo artists work their magic. There was also a classic barber shop, old-time pinup contest, and pie eating extravaganza to make that walk into the past even more memorable. To add plenty of excitement you could have checked out the mini-bike drag racing eliminations on the dirt track where the grandstands were packed with cheering fans, or stopped by the Binbrook Speed & Custom building where the team chopped the roof on a 1935 Ford pickup live throughout the weekend.

The party really gets rockin’ thanks to a showcase of live music hitting on stage well into the evening on both nights. Sets were laid down by The Hell-bent Rockers, Royal Crowns, Treble Tones, Gabba-Heys, King Jives, and DJ Swankenstein to keep everyone dancing.
