DS7 Crossback to be shown at KLIMS, on sale in 2019

The upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) will see the first appearance of the DS7 Crossback in the country – the SUV, which premiered in January last year, is being previewed at the show ahead of its local market debut next year.

The SUV, which measures in at 4.57 metres long, 1.89 metres wide and 1.62 metres tall, is the French luxury brand’s answer to the likes of the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. Styling cues include a bold-looking front end with a large DS Wings grille, LED headlights and plenty of chrome accents as well as LED daytime running lights designed in a beaded stitch fashion and placed at the side of the bumpers.

The luxurious interior, meanwhile, derives inspiration from luxury watchmaking and haute couture, with styling cues including Nappa seat upholstery designed to look like a watch strap and “Clous de Paris” guilloche engraving adorning the centre console toggle switches. Between the centre air vents sits a B.R.M. R180 clock, which is hidden out of sight when the engine is turned off.

The DS7 can be specified in one of four trim customisation themes, namely Bastille, Tivoli, Opera and Performance Line, each utilising materials such as leather, wood and Alcantara in different ways, across the dashboard, door panels and seats.

Blending with all this plush is an array of tech, which includes a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and another 12-inch unit for the central screen, the latter offering navigation, MirrorScreen and DS Connect functionality. Also finding its way on is a 14-speaker Focal Electra Hi-Fi audio system.

Naza Euro Motors hasn’t revealed details about the show car, but it should likely be a 1.6 litre THP turbocharged four-cylinder engine variant in either 180 hp or 225 hp output guise, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
