DVLA number plate value calculator – Your registration could be worth over £500,000

A number plate calculator could help you find out if your registration is secretly worth hundreds or thousands of pounds. Personalised number plates are big business in the UK with drivers willing to shell out exorbitant amounts of cash to secure their desired registration. Certain combinations of numbers and letters are more popular and deemed to be rarer, more valuable and can attract huge fees from buyers. Currently, the record for the most expensive number plate sold in the UK is for ’25 O’ which fetched a whopping £518,480.

In 2018, British drivers forked out a whopping £100million on custom registrations. It’s not just niche plates that redeemed to be valuable as even some of the most ordinary and mundane could secretly be holding some value.

The Guide to the Value of Car Registrations in the UK has been divided to allow motorists to roughly calculate how much the vehicle’s number plate could be worth.

Some plates can attract hundreds of thousands of pounds. Even ordinary plates could be worth a few hundred pounds and some of the new 2019 plates could be worth close to £1,000.

Registrations from 2010 can also seemingly attract a higher price tag valued at around £1,499. Less common combinations are the most likely to attract the highest prices at auction.
