Full-Size LEGO Chevy Silverado Is a 334,544-Piece Kit

Chevy supplied the Batmobile for the 2017 LEGO Batman Movie, only for the upcoming sequel to use a Silverado High Country against the evil invaders from outer space. Marking this marketing marvel is a life-size LEGO replica of a Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss, presented during the first public day of the Detroit Auto Show.

While it might not be as versatile as LEGO’s 12mph Bugatti Chiron, at 3307 lbs., the mostly red 2×8 stud brick-based Silverado is at least 1500 lbs. lighter than a standard 1500 LT 4WD Double Cab. And it’s also quite a bit more labor intensive to build.

At the LEGO Group’s Model Shop in Connecticut, 18 Master Builders spent over 2000 hours on turning a plan into a 334,544-piece full-size truck. Complete with working lights and tow hooks you wouldn’t want to use, the resulting replica measures 6 feet high, 20 feet long and 8 feet wide. Mind you, at 19.3 feet, a regular Silverado 1500 Double Cab is a touch shorter.
