Hot Rods, Customs and Cool Trucks from the Lokar Cruise In

For hot rodders, the first weekend of May in East Tennessee is a time to reunite at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals South in Knoxville, Tennessee. Along with this annual get together is the opportunity to spend an evening at the beautiful Lokar Performance Products facility. Lokar is a leader in the street rod market, with thousands of products that are proudly made in the USA. Founders, Skip and Debbie Walls moved Lokar to Knoxville, Tennessee in the 1990’s, and began hosting an open house during the Nats South each year. This event served as a kick-off on Thursday evening and now takes place on Friday evening, after the day’s festivities are complete at Chilhowee Park.

The Lokar Cruise In started at 5pm and offered car enthusiasts live music, great food and a display of awesome drag cars among the hundreds of street rods in attendance. A great crowd of classic trucks, restored muscle cars and quite a few modern performance vehicles joined the fun as well. The comradery and fellowship that takes place at the Lokar Cruise In keeps folks coming back year after year. This year’s event was no different, as long-time friends reconnected and new acquaintances were made during an evening of fun. As the years roll on, we’re sure the Lokar Cruise In will continue to grow, but for now, let’s look at the hot rods, customs, classic trucks, and drag cars that packed the Lokar facility in 2019.
