Infiniti Qs Inspiration – sports sedan concept teased

For this year’s Auto Shanghai, Infiniti will introduce a new sports sedan concept that previews an upcoming production model. Called the Qs Inspiration, the vehicle is built on a modular platform that is meant to accommodate electrified powertrains.

According to Infiniti, the concept will illustrate the company’s new design philosophy for its future electrified vehicles, which is “inspired by the art and modern architecture of Japan.”

Based on the provided teaser image, the concept will feature a rather rounded body, with slim taillights nestled just above the Infiniti logo. Other highlights include a large glass roof, side cameras instead of mirrors, angled outlets on the bumper, and what appears to be a diffuser.

The carmaker also touched upon the interior, which it describes as being minimalist with two distinct areas: “a clutter-free cockpit designed to engage the driver, and a relaxed passenger zone that make the most of the generous interior space.”

Infiniti also cited the Q45 in its release, a sedan model that was first released in 1989 and spanned three generations. At the time, it was a rather modern vehicle with a 4.5 litre V8 engine and an active suspension system being introduced later on. “Thirty years forward, the brand is delivering another groundbreaking sedan,” the company wrote in its release.
