Kia Introduces Next-Gen Sorento: 'Powerful' PHEV Version Coming

A 7-seat, mainstream plug-in hybrid from Kia might hit the bullseye.

At the upcoming 2020 Geneva Motor Show, Kia will unveil its next-generation Sorento model, which will be initially available in gasoline, diesel and hybrid versions.

Kia officially confirmed that the seven-seat SUV, as expected since 2019, will also get a plug-in hybrid version. The expectations are high as the South Korean manufacturer said “a powerful plug-in hybrid”.

“The latest Sorento will be the first SUV to be based on Kia’s new platform when production commences later this year. With a compact engine bay structure, shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase, the platform supports the car’s stylish new design and on-road posture, as well as its comfortable ride and satisfying handling traits.”
