Mercedes-Benz @ paultan.org PACE – C-Class facelift and new A-Class leads an all-star line-up at the show

Mercedes-Benz has plenty of metal on display at the paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) in Setia City Convention Centre, and taking centre stage at the Hap Seng Star showcase are the W205 C-Class facelift and the all-new W177 A-Class, both of which were launched recently.

Two variants of the refreshed C-Class are being shown at PACE, and they are the C 200 Avantgarde and Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic. The update for the compact executive sedan brings about a styling makeover and plenty of new equipment, as well as new/updated engines.

The standard C-Class range is now equipped with the automaker’s M264 turbocharged mill, in two different displacement capacities – the C 200 gets the 1.5 litre twin-scroll unit, which offers 181 hp (or 184 PS) and 280 Nm for output numbers. It also features an EQ Boost 48-volt electrical system incorporating a belt-driven starter/alternator, which is able to support the engine with 13 hp (10 kW) and 160 Nm of boost when needed.

As for the C 43 4Matic, the familiar M276 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 has been updated for the facelift, and now gets 23 hp more to bring output to 385 hp, with maximum torque remaining at 520 Nm. Interior highlights of the new C-Class include new trim as well as a redesigned steering wheel, a new 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display with three displays styles to choose from as well as a larger 10.25-inch central display screen.

Meanwhile, the A-Class is on display in its A 200 Progressive variant form. The new car, which in the case of the A 200 is powered by a 1.33 litre M282 four-cylinder turbo engine offering 163 hp at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque from 1,620 to 4,000 rpm, has more features and kit than before, with fresh bits including twin 10.25-inch LCD screens, an extended version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system as well as 64-colour ambient lighting.

Aside from the new duo, tristar exhibits at PACE also include the facelifted W222 S-Class, in its sole guise available locally, the S 450 L the GLC 250 AMG, the S 560 Cabriolet and the W213 E-Class in its E 300 AMG Line and E 200 Avantgarde variant forms.
