The all-electric range (WLTP) is officially up to 59 km (36.7 miles).
The plug-in hybrid crossover SUV, Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 (all-wheel-drive version) recently entered the market in Germany and cars are now ready for drives and to be bought at Opel dealerships in its home market.
With a price starting from €51,165 ($56,380) for the INNOVATION trim, it can go up to 59 km (36.7 miles) in all-electric mode according to the WLTP test cycle. That’s noticeably more than initially stated 50 km (31 miles).
Opel describes the Grandland X Hybrid4 as its “first plug-in hybrid”, which seems like a cut off from the past with GM (Opel Ampera – Chevrolet Volt):
“The first plug-in hybrid from Opel is already available in Germany from attractive monthly leasing rates of €399. The all-wheel drive car can be ordered as the highly equipped INNOVATION for €51,165 (RRP including VAT in Germany). Grandland X Hybrid4 buyers in Germany can benefit from company car tax rates for electrified vehicles.”
The German manufacturer (part of PSA Group) notes that 80% of all daily journeys in Germany are under 50 km (31 miles). In theory, charging after each journey should result in at least an 80% reduction of fuel consumption on average, compared to the conventional counterpart.
