Rudratej Singh Appointed President And CEO Of BMW Group India

Rudratej Singh has been appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group India with effect from August 1, 2019. Rudratej ‘Rudy’ Singh was the Global President of Royal Enfield in his last assignment, and brings more than 25 years of experience and has held multiple leadership positions both in the automotive and non-automotive industry. Prior to joining Royal Enfield, he worked with Unilever in India and international markets for over 16 years. Rudy graduated from Delhi University and holds an MBA degree in Marketing and Finance from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.

The BMW X5 is the latest launch from BMW India

In August 2018, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand. Since then, Dr. Hans Hans-Christian Baertels, Director, Finance and Administration at BMW Group India had successfully fulfilled the responsibility as acting President. With BMW, MINI and Motorrad, the BMW Group has its sight set firmly on the premium sector of the Indian automobile market. Wide range of its activities include a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Mumbai, a training centre in Gurgaon NCR and dealer organisation across major metropolitan centres of the country.

The BMW Group India is on a roll with the brand registering its highest-ever first quarter sales earlier this year. In the first quarter of 2019, BMW Group India delivered 2,982 cars, including both BMW and MINI brands, registering a growth of 19 per cent over the same period a year ago. BMW Motorrad sold 597 units in the same period, an impressive number in the premium motorcycle space in just a single quarter. In 2018, BMW Group India sold 11,105 passenger vehicles, including the Mini range in India, recording a growth of 13 per cent.
