Someone Is Already Selling Their McLaren Senna

The first McLaren Senna was delivered to the US last summer, and there’s already one going up for auction. It presents a good opportunity for someone who wasn’t initially allocated one of the just 500 Sennas planned to be built, or someone who’s impatient and wants a car this weekend. It’ll cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction tomorrow, and Motor1 reports that it’s likely to sell for $1.4 million.

Quite a bit more than its $964,966 MSRP, it has to be said. But as it’s the only one on sale in the US currently, demand far outstrips supply. Only 120 are expected to come to the US, too, so it’s an especially rare buy. Plus, this Senna is chassis number 005 and it’s painted in one of McLaren’s best colors, Amythest Black. That’s the same color as McLaren’s famous P1 press car, and it suits the Senna very well.

Barrett-Jackson didn’t provide a list of options fitted to this Senna, but we can see it’s got those rad windows in the doors plus a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, which arguably, isn’t keeping in charecter with the car’s track-focused nature.

Speaking of which, it’s worth remembering that the Senna is one of the most spectacular track cars out there today. There’s nothing else quite like it, and that alone could justify the crazy price. We’re curious to see what it goes for tomorrow.
