The Renault Espace has been on the market in its current iteration for just a year and a half, and now there appears to be a new update for the French MPV-turned-crossover. Caught by our spy photographers in northern Sweden, the forthcoming iteration of the Espace will gain a more noticeable facelift compared to the last outing.
Revisions to the Espace include visual changes to its front and rear, though that may be the extent of the changes to the forthcoming update as the powertrain line-up has recently been updated to comprise the 1.8 litre turbocharged mill which also powers the Alpine A110, along with pair of diesels.
In its most potent guise, the 1.8 litre turbo petrol-engined Espace does the 0-100 km/h run in 7.6 seconds, one second quicker compared to the 1.6 litre turbo it replaced. The trade-off is a slight hike in fuel consumption to 6.8 l/100 km, up from 6.2 l/100 km previously.
We haven’t got close-up images of the development vehicle’s interior here, though changes may be minimal here as it, too had recently been updated. There may be a development of the R-Link 2 infotainment setup, and mobile device support via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are expected to continue here as well. We can expect to know more about the French automaker’s forthcoming model in due course.
