What happens when you don’t think a new Dodge Challenger is quite retro enough? You get someone to stick the body of an old muscle car on top. Legendary DJ Funkmaster Flex got New York City shop Valanca Auto Concepts to do exactly that, and the company made him a new Challenger Hellcat with bodywork that apes a 1969 Charger.
So underneath the old-school-looking Charger body, which features a number of custom carbon-fiber components, it’s all modern Hellcat. The track was widened by four inches and the roofline lowered by two, but look inside, and you can clearly tell this is a new car.
To complete the Pro-Touring look, it’s been fitted with Boze alloy wheels and upgraded Baer brakes with six-piston calipers at all four corners, and a Magnaflow exhaust has been added too. This Charger is actually making its debut today at the Magnaflow stand at SEMA. The interior was refreshed by New York company Gillin Auto Interiors, with the headrests on the front seats removed for a retro low-back bucket look.
It’s a pretty wild built, but what else would you expect from a SEMA show car?
