Vauxhall has confirmed it will offer fully electric vans across its entire range by the end of 2021. The entire Vauxhall portfolio will offer electrified versions by 2024 before the entire range is fully electric by 2028.

Paul Willcox, Managing Director of Vauxhall motors said the future of the automotive industry was “electric”.

He said Vauxhall will “lead” electrification in the UK as it heads towards a net-zero future.

He said: “As of 2028, Vauxhall will only offer fully electric cars and vans in the UK.

“The future of the automotive industry is electric – and Vauxhall will lead that in this country.

“We are on a journey to reinvent Vauxhall and heading towards a net-zero CO2 future – CO2 is the new currency in our industry.”

Stellantis confirmed a modern-day electric version of the Opel Manta will be launched around 2025.

It comes after positive public reception to the Manta GSe ElektroMOD concept car which was constructed by the firm.

Just days ago, Vauxhall gave fans a first glimpse of the first fully-electric All-New Astra.
