Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen launched a ride-hailing service in Shanghai yesterday, The Paper reports.
A fleet of 50 Mercedes-Benz E200L vehicles are available for booking via Volkswagen's ride-hailing app, WeChat account, and company hotline. All vehicles come with a driver who all previously served government officials and guests during the 2010 World Expo and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, according to Tech Node.
Drivers wear suits and the cars are equipped with WiFi, iPads, drinks, and umbrellas.
