The Buick Century got the downsizing treatment in 1978 and again in 1982, when it became sibling to the front-wheel-drive Chevrolet Celebrity. For 1984, with public fear of computers running high, the marketers at The General’s Buick Division wanted car shoppers to know that computers, while involved with the design of the Century, did not have the final say in the completed product.
