The Pagani Imola Is a Wild Track-Ready Huayra With 827 Horsepower

After months of teasing, Pagani has finally, officially revealed the Imola. It’s an ultra-limited variant of the Huayra with tons of new aero upgrades and over 100 more horsepower. Just five have been built, and all of them have been sold.

The Imola gets its name from the Italian race track at which testing for the car was done. Pagani says its recorded nearly 10,000 miles of development driving to perfect all of the upgrades over the standard Huayra. That Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo V-12 has been tuned to 827 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 107 horsepower and 73 lb-ft, respectively. Power still gets to the rear wheels via a single-clutch seven-speed automated transmission.

But the big story here are the changes Pagani made to the body to optimize aerodynamics and weight. Founder Horacio Pagani explains the car’s aero upgrades took precedent over its looks.

Pagani has gone as far as to develop a new method of applying paint to its cars that can save as much as 11 pounds without sacrificing any quality. There’s also an optimized Brembo brake system, an interconnected electronic suspension, and the latest version of the car’s four independent active wings.

Pagani says the Imola costs five million euros (around $5.42 million) before taxes. But, like we said, all five examples have been purchased by some truly lucky customers. So you can’t buy one new, even if you had the cash. We’re not jealous. Not one bit.
