2020 Chevy Corvette: What We Think We Know So Far

The first official photo of the all-new ’20 Chevy Corvette happened…of the car in camo form. All that Chevy is officially confirming at this point is, “The next-generation Corvette is the most anticipated Corvette ever. It’s the sum of each generation before it, but will stand alone as the new standard of performance. The C8 is set for its true reveal July 18, 2019, and here’s what’s expected to go down:
•It’s the first mid-engine Corvette. Expect serious supercar performance for the next-gen car as a result. With a new location comes a new name, the LT2 engine.
•The 6.2L V8 will have improvements, probably to the tune of 500 hp.
•No manual transmission? That’s the chatter.
•It should be available to buy at the end of 2019, with the first model probably being a Stingray. Considering all the performance enhancements, we shouldn’t have to wait long for the ZR1 and Z06. Then there’s another Vette, a hybrid, with an electric motor coupled with a twin-turbo V-8. Rumor? Possibly four-digit horses.
•Don’t be surprised if the starting price is slightly more than $60,000.
