2022 Suzuki Katana revealed at EICMA 2021

The Katana shares its platform with the Suzuki GSX-S1000.

Suzuki has taken the wraps off the 2022 Katana at EICMA 2021. Besides the cosmetic makeover, the bike gets a mechanical upgrade as well.

The Katana shares its platform with the GSX-S1000. The semi-faired litre-class bike features a retro-modern look. It has a rectangular LED headlamp and a short tail section.

The Katana is powered by a 998cc, 4-cylinder engine that produces 150 BHP @ 11,000 rpm. Thanks to a new camshaft profile, valve springs, and a new intake and exhaust system, the engine makes 2 BHP more than the outgoing version.

The Katana is based on a lightweight, twin-spar aluminium frame. It rides on fully-adjustable KYB front forks, with an adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 310 mm front discs with Brembo calipers and a single disc at the rear.

The 2022 Katana comes with the Suzuki Riding Mode Selector System with three engine modes, ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quick shifter paired with a new Suzuki Clutch Assist System and traction control with five settings. Finally, there is the easy start system that avoids stalling at slow speeds.
