Roadkill has reached the 100-episode pinnacle, and to celebrate, Freiburger and Finnegan are going back to their roots. Remember back in episode 1 on YouTube, when the guys threw a dart at a map to determine their adventure? That’s what they are doing this time, but to the maximum. Instead of barroom darts and a paper map on an easel, they use a four-door, econobox 2013 Dodge Dart and a map half the size of a football field on the desert floor to decide their fate. With the help of a 1960s helicopter, the little commuter is lifted to 1,320 feet and dropped like a rock.

The results weren’t what the guys expected, so they hit the Route 66 pavement in the Backyard Buick they rescued from Jp magazine editor Rick Péwé in the very first episode of the show eight years ago. Considering they dropped a new Dodge Dart from 1,320 feet, they set out to find a classic example on the cheap and match the time it took for the new one to splat like a pancake on the ground. They got lucky in Lake Havasu with a tired old 1976 Dodge, 318-powered Dart with all of the wrong parts to go fast. They didn’t let that stop them, though! In true Roadkill fashion, nitrous, ignition timing and a welded rear end was the answer, and at Amarillo Dragway, they find out just how far the clapped-out Dart will go. Can they match the terminal velocity of the Dart dropped from the sky?
