Audi has unveiled the A6 e-tron concept at the ongoing 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. The concept is said to preview the German brand’s future luxury EV models.

The A6 e-tron is said to be underpinned by Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This new platform is said to be developed in collaboration with Porsche and will underpin all future luxury EVs from the brand. The first model with the PPE underpinnings is scheduled to go on sale by late-2022.

The Audi A6 e-tron concept is powered by a 100 kW battery. The electric powertrain in the concept is said to produce 479 BHP and 800 Nm. The top-of-the-line A6 e-tron EV is claimed to be capable of sprinting from 0 – 100 km/h in under 4 seconds.

The A6 e-tron’s maximum range is claimed to be 700 km. The electric sedan also has 270 kW fast-charging capability and offers a range of 300 km with just 10 minutes of charging. The company claims that the car’s batteries can be charged from 5 to 80 per cent in just 25 minutes.

The Audi A6 e-tron concept features the brand’s digital matrix LED headlamps, 22-inch wheels and LED tail lights with OLED elements, which offers customisable light signatures and dynamic lighting displays.

The car’s dimensions are similar to the A6 and A7 models.
