Audi Q3 Sportback Shows Off Subtly Sportier Roofline

A year after introducing the redesigned Q3, Audi is showing off its new brother who is even more handsome. Meet the Audi Q3 Sportback.

The SUV’s low roofline gives it an athletic appearance. The coupe-like Sportback also features a unique blacked-out grille, a bold roof edge spoiler, and a beefier bumper design compared to the standard model.

Inside, the Q3 Sportback still has room for three passengers in the rear. Up front, Alcantara accents line the instrument panel and armrests, and a flat-bottom steering wheel lends the model a sporty look. Along with a 10.1-inch touchscreen in the center of the cockpit, it has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster in front of the driver, or an optional 12.3-inch unit. Drivers have access to navigation with Google Earth, Amazon Alexa voice service, and Audi’s traffic light information system. While the regular Euro-spec Q3 boasts 53.9 cubic feet of space in the cargo area, the Q3 Sportback offers up to 49.4 cubic feet.

In Europe, the Q3 Sportback will offer various gas and diesel engines. After market launch, it will be available with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

We’ve reached out to Audi to see if it plans to bring the Q3 Sportback to the U.S., and will update this post once we hear back. The Q3 Sportback arrives in Europe this fall to battle the similarly swoopy BMW X2.
