BMW has revealed the all-electric iX3 SUV.
The iX3 is based on the third generation X3. The electric version gets a slightly revised styling with a blanked-out grille, new bumpers and blue exterior accents. It also comes with aerodynamically optimized 19-inch wheels.
The iX3 is powered by an electric motor that is mounted on the rear axle. It has an output of 282 BHP and 400 Nm and is paired with a single-speed transmission. BMW claims the iX3 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, while its top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
The battery that powers the electric motor is located in the floor pan. It’s a 400 V 74 kWh lithium-ion pack that is claimed to offer a maximum range of 458 km (WLTP cycle). The battery can recharged to 80% using a 150 kW DC fast charger in 34 minutes.
The BMW iX3 electric SUV will be manufactured in China.
