BMW Motorrad has packed even more power into its top-of-the-line superbike for next year, equipping it with 165 horsepower.
Based on the S 1000 RR, the current S 1000 R model has been “stripped down to the essentials but maximized for pure riding pleasure,” utilizing a new aluminum frame and a lighter gearbox along with redesigned body panels, all totaling a weight of just 452 pounds. Power comes from a liquid-cooled four-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine capable of churning out 165 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of 84 pound-feet at 9,250 rpm.
Of course, aside from pure power, the automaker has also made sure all the necessary features are present for a better riding experience, include two different ride modes — Rain and Road — a Gear Shift Assist Pro system for dynamic shifting, ABS, traction control, hill start, and even a new 6.5-inch dash display.
For those interested, the BMW Motorrad S 1000 R will be available next year with prices starting at $15,000 USD. Head over to the company’s website to learn more.
