Audi has unveiled its new Q5 e-tron SUV at the 2021 Auto Guangzhou motor show in China. The electric SUV will initially go on sale in the Chinese market, before being offered internationally.

The Audi Q5 e-tron measures 4,876 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,965 mm. The Q5 e-tron uses Volkswagen’s MEB platform, which also forms the basis for the ID.6 electric SUV.

In terms of design, the Q5 e-tron carries forward the styling cues from its small sibling, the Q4 e-tron. The new electric SUV comes with a covered-off single-frame grille flanked by angular headlamps at the front. It also comes with triangular intakes on the front bumper. The car features dynamic design lines on the front and rear fenders and slim LED tail lights connected by a full-width light bar. The sides are characterised by large dual-tone alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Q5 e-tron’s cabin is almost identical to that of the Q4 e-tron. The electric SUV features an 11.5-inch central touchscreen infotainment system with connected tech, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a host of other features and equipment. The Q5 e-tron comes with a three-row configuration, capable of seating 6 to 7 passengers.

Once launched in China, the Audi Q5 e-tron will be offered in three variants. These include a 180 BHP RWD base variant with a 55 kW battery, a 204 BHP mid-spec variant with 83.4 kW battery and a 302 BHP range-topping variant with a dual-motor and all-wheel-drive setup. Audi states that the Q5 e-tron is capable of offering a max range of 560 km on a single charge and can also sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
