Jeep has revealed the Compass facelift at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show.
To the uninitiated, the updated Compass might look similar to the current model. The subtle changes are mainly focused around the front fascia and include a slimmer grille, a new front bumper and LED headlamps.
The Compass Trailhawk gets similar updates but features a blacked-out grille, black and red decals on the bonnet, red tow hooks and Trailhawk badges.
On the inside, the Compass facelift gets a redesigned dashboard with a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that gets Amazon Alexa support, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and can receive over-the-air updates. The SUV also gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.
The Compass facelift is expected to be launched in India sometime next year. It will retain the same set of engines as before. These include the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm and the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 161 BHP and 250 Nm. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The petrol is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the diesel gets an optional 9-speed automatic.
