Ducati Shaves Weight Off Its 2021 Monster While Packing More Power

Italian motorcycle maker Ducati will be offering a redesigned Monster for 2021, shaving weight off the performance bike while giving it a power boost.

Now weighing 40 pounds less than its predecessor, the new Monster nonetheless receives an upgraded output of 111 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 69 pound-feet of torque thanks to Ducati’s very own Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, with a displacement of 937 cubic centimeters. Carrying the engine is a full aluminium frame taken from the Panigale V4, paired with a fiberglass subframe for optimal weight reduction. The swingarm, wheels, and riding position have all be redesigned as well. Other features include ABS cornering, traction and wheelie control, a digital dashboard, and various preset riding modes.

The 2021 Ducati Monster will arrive in the U.S. in April next year, with prices starting at $11,895 USD. A sportier Monster Plus variation will also be available for $12,395 USD.
