Honda’s India line-up will only include four models.
Honda has discontinued the Civic and CR-V in India.
The Civic and CR-V had a minor share of about 3-4% of the total volume. Both models were manufactured at the company’s Greater Noida facility. But, with all production operations being shifted to the Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, it would require fresh investments to continue building the Civic and CR-V in India.
Honda was operating only in 70% of the market. With the Civic and CR-V being axed, the brand’s market penetration will drop further. Honda’s India line-up will only include four models – City, WR-V, Amaze and Jazz.
Honda is planning to introduce a compact SUV in India. However, reports suggest that its launch has been delayed.
