Kia Carens production begins at brand’s Anantapur plant

The Carens is available in five trims, in either 6 or 7-seat configurations. It competes with the Hyundai Alcazar.

The production of the Kia Carens has commenced at the brand’s Anantapur plant, as the first customer cars started rolling off the production line.

Bookings for the Kia Carens opened on January 14, 2022. It is available in five trims – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus, in either 6 or 7-seat configuration. Prices will be announced next month.

The Carens comes with the same powertrain options as the Seltos. These include a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with 138 BHP and 242 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
