According to media report, Maruti Suzuki will start supplying the Vitara Brezza to Toyota. The latter is preparing to launch a re-badged version of the sub-4 meter SUV in India.
We had reported earlier that Toyota’s version of the Vitara Brezza is likely to be called the Urban Cruiser and the vehicle is expected to be launched in August 2020.
The Urban Cruiser is expected to be offered with the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mild-hybrid powertrain from the Vitara Brezza. It produces 104 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is expected to be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Urban Cruiser will be the second badge-engineered car after the Glanza, which is essentially a Maruti Baleno.
