New Dacia Duster TCe petrol prices confirmed

The cheap and cheerful Dacia Duster SUV now gains a pair of 1.3-litre turbo engines at the top of its range

Dacia has confirmed prices and specs for a pair of new turbocharged petrol engines for its Duster SUV. Both models are available to order now, with deliveries starting in March 2019.

The 1.3-litre unit, co-developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Daimler, is available in 128bhp and 148bhp outputs. They’re named TCe 130 and TCe 150 respectively, reflecting their outputs in metric horsepower.

• Best crossovers and small SUVs

The TCe 130 is combined with 240Nm of torque and accelerates from 0-62mph in 11.1 seconds. The TCe 150 – the most powerful engine ever fitted to a Dacia road car – offers 10Nm more and dispatches the 0-62mph sprint 0.7 seconds faster.

Both are paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and are front-wheel drive only. On the latest WLTP testing system, the pair achieve 47mpg and emit 137g/km of CO2.

The TCe 130 is offered in Comfort and Prestige trim levels, while the 150 is Prestige only. The 130 starts from £14,395 and features a reversing camera, parking sensors, 7-inch infotainment system with sat-nav, electric windows, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, and 16-inch alloys.

The range-topping Prestige costs £15,695 for the 128bhp model and £600 more for the 148bhp version. The Prestige adds 17-inch alloys, blind spot warning, climate control, keyless entry and a multi-view camera.

The new petrol units join the latest diesel all-wheel-drive powertrain option added to the range in late November. Priced from £15,695, the dCi 4×4 features a revised air-to-water intercooler, a higher injector pressure, updated gearbox ratios and four-wheel-drive. Dacia say these additions have improved both the Duster 4X4’s performance and fuel economy.

Performance figures remain the same as the Duster dCi 4X2 at 113bhp and 260Nm of torque. Fuel economy stands at 60.1mpg, whilst emissions are rated at 123 g/km of C02.

Like the petrol model, the Duster dCi 4×4 is offered in Comfort and Prestige trims (from £17,395 and £18,659 respectively), but also the £15,695 Essential level, too. The Essential gets body coloured bumpers, air conditioning, a heated driver’s seat, DAB radio and 16-inch steel wheels. The entry level Duster is still priced from £9,995.
