According to a media report, the next generation Mahindra Thar will be launched in the first quarter of the next fiscal year.
Last month, we had reported that the Thar is likely to be launched by March-end of April 2020. It was reported that the SUV would be offered in 6-7 variants and with the option of a soft top or hard top.
The new Thar is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine producing 187 BHP and 380 Nm of torque. A 138 BHP 2.2-litre diesel unit could also be on offer. In addition to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the new Thar is likely to get an automatic transmission option.
Spy images suggest that the new Thar will be wider and is likely to feature a 7-vent grille and circular headlamps. It expected to be offered with 5-spoke alloy wheels. On the inside, the new Thar is likely to get a twin-dial instrument cluster with an MID in the centre.
