Renault has introduced a new design for its logo. The company has dropped the shiny silver logo and opted for a flat monochrome emblem. The new flat logo will be feasible to use on an electric car as it can be backlit.

The new logo is inspired by the four-line version of the rhombus which the company had adopted in 1972. Renault had silently previewed it in January in an advertisement for the upcoming Renault 5 EV. As the company plans to shift its focus to electric cars in the future, the decision to adopt the new logo seems feasible.

Renault will start applying the new logo on its cars from 2022. By 2024, the company’s entire line-up will get it. The company also plans to shift to the new emblem for other channels including print and social media.
