SEAT’s foray into the sub-compact city transport market follows the firm’s all-electric eXS KickScooter from November 2018. Developed in tandem with Segway, the eXS aimed to both improve city mobility and launch SEAT’s expansion into the urban transport.

This new concept vehicle adopts the same “compact urban mobility” brief and, judging by SEAT’s shadowy teaser images, it will be similar in size and shape to the Renault Twizy. As such, we expect it to be a rear-wheel-drive, one-plus-one, sub-compact runabout .

The concept will also feature 5G connectivity, jointly-developed with the Spanish telecommunications company, Telefonica. SEAT says the system will allow communication between the car, the surrounding infrastructure and other vehicles as a first step towards fully-autonomous collaborative driving.

SEAT’s has not confirmed if the concept will make its way into production or just remains a signal of intent.
