The Volvo C40 Recharge was launched in India last month at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The carmaker has now increased the price of the EV by Rs 1.7 lakh.
Volvo claims to have received over 100 bookings for the C40 Recharge since September 5, 2023. The EV now costs Rs 62.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) after the latest price hike.
The C40 Recharge shares its dual-motor electric powertrain with the XC40 Recharge. It generates 402 BHP and 660 Nm and uses a 78 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of 530 km (WLTP cycle). According to Volvo, the improved range is a result of a new battery management system and the car’s low-drag design.
The C40 Recharge is an electric SUV with a coupe-like design. It comes with a portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system mounted in the centre, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The car is also equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier and a Harman Kardon sound system. The C40 Recharge also gets ADAS.
