Watch a Lamborghini Huracan drag-race an Aventador SVJ

Drag Times, your source for all things quarter-mile-slip related, caught some video of two of the hottest and fastest cars on the planet in a quarter-mile dogfight this week. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, with a base price of more than $500,000, houses a 6.5-liter V12 making 770 hp and 531 lb-ft. It sends power to all four wheels via the company's ISR (independent shift rod) transmission, in a body that weighs just 3,362 pounds dry. That gives it a weight-to-power ratio of 4.36 pounds per horse. The Huracan uses a 5.2-liter V10 for power, delivering 601 hp and 413 lb-ft. That motive force goes through a dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels, and the dry weight is pegged at 3,134 pounds. Its weight-to-power is 5.13 pounds per horse.

So it should be a slaughter, right? Not quite. Check out the video above — skip the first minute to avoid the terrible music — to get a decent explanation (with VBox graphs) of what happens. The results may surprise you.
