The movie “Bullitt” is 50 years old this year — today, actually — and since there has been a lot of Bullitt Mustang news recently (new Ford Mustang Bullitt, old movie car found), watchmaker BRM and artist Nicolas Hunziker collaborated on a one-of-one timepiece honoring the film’s original car.
“How much?” is probably the first thing you're wondering. The answer is $35,000. But before you scoff, this watch will be raffled off for $25 a ticket, with all proceeds going to Drive Toward a Cure, a charity dedicated to curing Parkinson’s disease.
“Our mission for Drive Toward a Cure has always been to broaden the awareness of and raise funds for Parkinson’s disease by blending cars and camaraderie,” said Deb Pollack, founder of Drive Toward a Cure. “When Sean (Kiernan) and I first met, we realized we had more in common than cars — as we both had struggled through the loss of a parent to Parkinson’s disease. Fortunately, the timing of the attention his car was receiving this particular year offered a perfect pathway to gain the further attention this disease deserved.”
