28,000 Sq. Ft Gran Turismo Theater Built for FIA EMEA Regional Finals in Madrid

We’re just a few days away from the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, & Africa) Regional Finals for the FIA GT Sport Championship, and details about the event in Madrid, Spain, are starting to emerge.

The event will be held in the Feria de Madrid convention center as part of Madrid Games Week, the largest gaming show in Spain. And, according to what we’re learning, they’re going to need all that space to contain the ridiculous 28,000 square-foot Gran Turismo theater that is being constructed on-site.

This makes it the largest-ever venue to host a Gran Turismo event (yes, even larger than the Copperbox Arena in which GT Sport was revealed, excluding unused space), and we haven’t even talked about the crowd yet.

The theater is being constructed with seating for over 500 spectators, VIP viewing areas, a “supercar exposition” (the mock-up for which includes what appears to be a Koenigsegg…), and two areas of race pods available for the public.

Madrid Games Week’s official Twitter account has posted construction photos of the venue, which is starting to come together as we speak:

To get inside the spectator area, which includes a screen over 1,000 square-feet in size, attendees will have to buy tickets for €10 each.

For visitors who want a bit more, a “Fan Kit” will be available to purchase as well. The full kit includes an odd-looking Gran Turismo t-shirt, Gran Turismo / FIA cap, a media kit, a GT flag, GT cheering sticks, an additional ticket to Madrid Games Week for Saturday, October 20, access to the VIP area, and a chance to meet the finalists.

A special website has been established to handle the ticket sales; if you’re in the area and want to attend, you can buy your ticket and get more information here.

Of course, if you can’t go, the whole thing will be live-streamed on Gran Turismo’s YouTube and Twitch channels — we’ll have all the links you need right here as we get closer to the event, which kicks off this Friday, October 19 at 14:00 UTC.

Stay tuned for more exclusive coverage from the event right here on GTPlanet: Andrew Evans and I will both be attending these EMEA Regional Finals, so be sure to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for plenty of looks behind-the-scenes.

We’ve also got exclusive player profiles, exclusive interviews, and a lot more which we’ll be publishing right here throughout the week ahead. If the action we saw at the Austrian World Tour event and the Asia-Oceania Regional Finals is any indication, it’s going to get pretty wild.
