SportPesa Racing Point F1 unveils 2019 livery in Canada

With a new name and a new paint job, SportPesa Racing Point Formula One Team became the first team to launch an F1 car in Canada.

As with several other teams, the car shown is not the team's 2019 entry, but the livery is that which will adorn their car — the event labeled by the team as a "livery and identity presentation."

The livery remains largely in the pink of sponsor BWT, a large water technology company, but a blue engine cover and detailing on the front wing highlights the logo of title sponsor SportPesa, a sports betting platform.

Veteran F1 driver Sergio Perez remains with the team, formerly known as Force India, and has set the bar high with his expectations for 2019.

I think our targets are really high,” said Perez. “We are aiming for at least fourth again this season. When you consider the level of competition that is in the midfield, with such big teams around, big manufacturers, it isn’t going to be easy, but this team has done it before. I would be pleased if we could have a couple of podiums as well, have a great season and why not our first victory together?”

Moving from Williams to Racing Point for 2019 is Canadian driver Lance Stroll. With one podium finish to his name from two years in a difficult car, Stroll is looking forward to the challenge of the new season.

“It’s a new chapter,” said Stroll. “It’s a very exciting journey that lies ahead of us. Words can’t really describe it. It’s a dream come true to be standing on this stage as a part of SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team here in Canada launching the car. It’s amazing.”
