Subaru Is Bringing Back Its Greatest Racing Livery for 2019

Great news, rally fans: Subaru announced it will be bringing back its awesome star graphic livery from its WRC golden age back for 2019. The blue and yellow livery, made iconic by the championship-winning cars driven by Richard Burns and Petter Solberg, will be featured across Subaru’s Motorsport lineup. We can’t wait to see it in action.

According to Subaru, the throwback blue and yellow design will be used on its Americas Rallycross and ARA stage rally WRX STIs built by Vermont SportsCar this season. The car you see here is a rallycross variant. In addition to that stunning livery, it also has gold wheels, Subaru Tecnica International badges where the fog lights would be, and a sweet windshield decal.

The car will make its first public appearance at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week along with the WRX STI S209. The livery will make its official competition debut in just a few months, on March 15th, 2019 at the 100 Acre Wood Rally in Missouri.
