Williams already off to a better start in 2020

After only leaving the pits midway through the third day of last year’s pre-season testing, Williams had cause for celebrations on Monday as the FW43 had an early shakedown run.

George Russell put the newly-unveiled FW43 through its paces at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Last season Williams missed the start of pre-season testing due to a delayed built of the FW42.

That not only but the team on the back foot it was also marked the end of tech chief Paddy Lowe’s days at the team.

Williams scored just one point in 2019.

This season the former World Champions are already off to a better start with Russell laying down the laps on Monday morning.

Rookie racer Nicholas Latifi will drive the car later in the day.

There it is! The FW43? Can’t wait to hop in later today to get my first taste behind the wheel! #WeAreWilliams #WeAreRacing #WeAreFighting #F1 #NL6 pic.twitter.com/WM0dIRokjy

Williams, though, wasn’t the only team in action at the Spanish circuit.

Renault arrived early on Monday morning with the team beginning its preparations with a run for Esteban Ocon in the RS20.
