Lance Stroll has admitted that it was a tough year piloting the Williams in 2018, but that it “definitely built some character”.
The Canadian driver looks set for a move to the Racing Point Force India team for 2019, having tested with them in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

He makes the move having only scored points on two occasions this year, with a season-best of P8 coming back in April, in Baku.
“I can’t say that I’ve enjoyed my time with the team this year, but I did last year,” Stroll admitted.
“I’m just going to enjoy the off-season a bit now, and get back to work and start chipping away at it.
“We had by far the worst car this year, so I think it can only go up from where Williams were this year.”
His sophomore year with the team was a grounding for the Canadian, having become the youngest rookie to stand on the podium in F1 history, when he finished P3 in Azerbaijan in 2017.
After just six points scored this time round, Stroll believes that it has helped him as a person, and made him stronger.
“I’ve definitely grown and matured as a driver, but it’s been a challenging year,” he added.
“I’ve picked up six points. Not ideal, but I gave it my all, and it’s definitely built some character.”
