2016-2020 McLaren GT, Senna, 570GT, 720S: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,700 model-year 2016-20 McLaren 720S sports cars, model-year 2017-19 570GT sports cars, model-year 2019 Senna sports cars and model-year 2020 GT sports cars

The Problem: The noise, vibration and harshness foam pad underneath the fuel tank may retain moisture and corrode the tank, potentially causing a fuel leak that, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of fire.

The Fix: Dealers will remove the foam pad from the car, and inspect and replace the fuel tank, as necessary, on 720S, 570GT and Senna models. A remedy is still being developed for the GT.

What Owners Should Do: McLaren has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 646-429-8916, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
