A social media influencer has advised drivers to check if their car has a hack that could keep them cool this summer.
@chegeceping regularly posts short videos to his YouTube page, giving drivers advice on how to make the most of their set of wheels.
In his latest videos, @chegeceping highlighted a particular function seen on many new cars which can cool items down.
He explained: “Turn the temperature of the air conditioner to the lowest, adjust the air volume [fan speed] to the middle position, then open the centre console box.
“There’s a black knob inside, let’s adjust the position of this knob so that the snowflake [symbol] faces outwards. This will turn on the function of the small refrigerator.”

In the video, @chegeceping simply sets his air conditioning system to blow cold air into the cabin and then adjusted a vent within a compartment within the central armrest.
He then took out a bottle of ice-cold water, showing how useful this feature could be during hot and humid weather.
Keeping hydrated behind the wheel is incredibly important, with various studies showing that driving whilst thirsty can vastly increase reaction times.

However, whilst this feature can be found on many modern cars, not all drivers may be able to find it in the location seen in @chegeceping’s video.
Some models feature a cool air vent inside the glove compartment, which can be turned on in a similar way.
Drivers who want to see if their car has this feature are advised to check their vehicle’s handbook, which gives tutorials on setting up various functions.

One viewer commented: “This guy is an [encyclopedia].”
Another motorist joked: “I live in the north of England. We don’t need refrigerators in our cars as it’s always cold here.”
