Homeowners with an empty driveway or parking space have collectively made £6,500 from the tournament as fans are desperate to find bays near the ground. Experts at YourParkingSpace warns driveway parking demand is on the increase as a result of the tournament with demand set to soar as restrictions ease and more events go ahead.

Only 45,000 fans were allowed into Wembley Stadium for England’s last 16 knockout win over Germany.

However, 60,000 fans will be allowed into both Semi-Final games and the Finals set for next Sunday.

Some homeowners are charging up to £40 to park on their driveways around 18 minutes from the stadium next Wednesday when England could be in action for the Semi-Finals.

Those living 20 minutes away from the ground are charging up to £34 to stop for just four hours for the game.

Wembley Stadium has confirmed there is no official Euro 2020 matchday parking available.

They urge drivers to park at an Underground station north of Wembley and finish their journey to the games by rail.

However, with coronavirus cases starting to rise many drivers are likely to find this uncomfortable.

This morning, a new report suggests all legal limits will come to an end on 19 July meaning sports events and music concerts could soon go ahead with full capacities.

Harrison Woods, CEO of YourParkingSpace said the final unlocking of restrictions could lead to a “surge in demand”.

He added this was a “great opportunity” for homeowners to male “additional income” without much hassle.

He said: “A final unlocking of COVID social contact restrictions will lead to a surge in demand for pre-bookable driveway parking as music and sports venues fill up to pre-pandemic levels.

“It is a great opportunity for homeowners living near these locations to make an additional income by renting out their driveways as parking spaces.”
