Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing’s 2,250-HP Boat Is Orange and Wild

What, you think you’re hot stuff with that 720-hp 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series? Please. It’s all about the four-figure club these days, and until the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar hits the road, then you’re outta luck if you want a Merc to meet this power quota. Well, at least if you’re a landlubber. Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing just collaborated on their thirteenth powerboat—a craft that packs a whopping 2,250 hp—for the salt-stained folk with a mound of cash growing mold.

A real wilting daisy, that. This whacko power comes from a set of five 450-hp 4.6-liter V-8s from Mercury Racing, enough to push this striking orange boat to a top speed of 90 mph. Even when docked up in the Florida Keys slip, no one will mistake you for slow; Cigarette Racing teamed up with the Mercedes-AMG design team and design chief Gordon Wagner to create a hyper-aggressive powerboat inspired by the terrestrial GT Black Series, and it sure looks the part.

The end result is orange—very, very orange. Based on Cigarette’s 41-foot Nighthawk model, the appropriately named  Cigarette 41′ Nighthawk AMG Black Series boat wears a distinctive shade of Magmabeam Orange with contrasting white, black, and orange interior appointments. There’s a lot of interior stuff to check out, too, as there’s seating for 10 of your closest friends or attractive randos you pick up from the wharf. Naturally, AMG branding peppers the cabin, so you won’t have to worry about folks mistaking you for some non-Mercedes fan.

If you’re more about the tech toys than the speed (which is weird, but who are we to judge), the Nighthawk is packed with the latest nautical tech, including a large center control console with massive Garmin touchscreens and a set of passenger info screens. Of course, when you’re done blitzing across the beach, settle down and play your favorite yacht rock on the boat’s hi-fi marine audio system, or go below deck to snooze off the party before cruising back toward land.

This being a Cigarette Racing craft, fit and finish is of the highest quality—as it should be, for its unrevealed seven-figure price tag. If you’re interested but want to know exactly how much this will set you back, well—you know what they say about having to ask. If you just can’t help yourself, get in touch with Cigarette Racing.
