The redesigned 2021 Toyota Sienna hits dealerships this November, and the biggest change is its new hybrid powertrain. In fact, the minivan will only be available as a hybrid moving forward; there will be no other option. Thanks to its lineup-wide hybridization, the 2021 Sienna sees its combined EPA fuel economy rating leap a huge 12 mpg over the most efficient 2020 Sienna. Prices for the massively improved van, on the other hand, barely budge, although the base price does go up slightly.
For the new model year, the Sienna will start at $35,635 for the base LE trim. Last year, you could get a 2020 Sienna for as low as $32,815 if you went for the now-defunct price-leader L model. To compare apples to apples, however, the previous Sienna LE went for the same price as the new LE.
The Toyota’s biggest rival, the 2021 Honda Odyssey, starts at $32,910. The Sienna’s other big rival, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, starts at $36,540. Buyers seeking a lower-cost minivan may want to look at the Chrysler Voyager, priced from $28,730; it’s essentially a Pacifica with less equipment and none of the Pacifica’s styling updates for 2021.

Standard goodies on the Sienna LE include a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and seven USB ports. The next step up is the XLE model, and it already breaches the $40,000 mark. It upgrades to an 8-speaker sound system among other things. The XSE is the sportiest-looking model in the lineup, wearing dark 20-inch wheels. This minivan goes for $43,175.
At the higher end of the price range is the Limited, priced from $47,875. Buyers will get navigation, a 12-speaker sound system with subwoofer, and second-row captain’s chairs with—get this—foot-perching ottomans. The cream of the crop is the Platinum, which gets a 10-inch head-up display as one of its highlights. Prices start at a cool $51,075. If you tack on extras like special paint or a $1,415 rear seat entertainment system, that price goes up quickly.
Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available for extra cost on all Sienna models. For LE and XLE, prices increase by $2,000. The feature adds $760 to the XSE, $1,800 to the Limited, and $560 to the Platinum.
